Biography
After the debut album The Things That Sleep In The Woods (2015), Ilen Mer traveled to Sweden to record their second album. They made a cabin in the woods their home and created their own temporary recording studio. Öar is the result of the two weeks the band spent in this remote place.
Ilen Mer aimed to capture the Scandinavian atmosphere and combine that with their own style: dark, warm electro-pop with orchestral influences. First single Skeleton 'sees the quartet weave elements of dreampop, electronica with Merit’s beautiful vocals and ethereal male harmonies into a sound that is achingly windswept and beautiful.’ (Electronic North).
Öar was released on November 11th, 2017 after which the band toured throughout the Netherlands.
